The 2016 AFL Finals Brackets are set, so we have plenty with which to occupy ourselves over the next two interminable weeks, which we will spend continuously asking, “Are we there yet?”
Multi-purpose, and we do mean multi-purpose, ANZ Stadium will host a hometown matchup between the Swans and the Giants, meaning that only one of the Sydney franchises can make it to the preliminary final.
The Crows might have done themselves a favour, wink wink, losing to West Coast, since they now draw the Roos, in Adelaide, for the elimination final.
The winners of the Swans v. Giants and Crows v. Roos, will know their next opponents, as the West Coast Eagles will host the Western Bulldogs in the first elimination final, even though in the eyes of the AFL, it is the second elimination final. The other qualifying final is the Cats v. Hawks, which will be staged on the Hawks MCG territory.
Fearless predictions: Swans, Crows, very easy calls. West Coast-more of a guess than anything else. Cats v. Hawks- our desire to see a four-peat makes us lean toward Hawthorn for no real reason.
