AFL Standings and Upcoming Fixtures for Top Teams

After an impressive 10 – 0 run to secure a top rung perch on the ladder, the North Melbourne Kangaroos have given up some of the comfort they previously enjoyed by losing two consecutive.

A glance downward reveals a crowded rung just below them occupied by the Cats, Swans and last year’s premiers, the Hawks after the current season has reached just beyond the halfway point. Greater Western Sydney and the Adelaide Crows are just one game back, and only eight points separate the top seven teams.

The Roos’ next opponent is the Hawks and if ever it could be said that a Round 13 game carries major implications for the finals, this game would suffice nicely. Betstar favours Hawthorn over North $1.45 to $2.75 with a 14.5-point line. Sportsbet has it similarly at $1.50 to $2.60 with a 13.5-point line.

The Cats and the Bulldogs face off in another significant game, the Swans play the Demons, a team not to be taken lightly at 6 – 6.

GWS figures to have an easy week with the Bombers, and the Crows have a bye week to recover and get healthy for the home run, which commences with a Round 14 meeting with the Roos.
