It is a veritable cornucopia of punting opportunities for Australian punters who check their mobiles or log in to bookmaker websites on computers and tablets during the month of April.

The AFL will have a couple of rounds of play completed, meaning that there will be nine games per week during April to determine a 2019 premiership. Most of the corporate bookmakers will be offering hundreds of markets per game, from the solid head-to-head and line betting to some of the exotics, bets well beyond what is normally on offer for other codes. There will certainly be free betting markets to be found all during April.

The NRL is also going strong and it is not uncommon to see the number of markets increase daily as the games approach, so stay alert to find free bets promotions and all sorts of things to keep interest levels high. Super Rugby is in full swing and attracts a lot of attention during a World Cup year.

Autumn Thoroughbred racing is in high gear. Randwick takes centre stage with 10 Group 1 races, including the Group 1 Queen Elizabeth Stakes, which might be the last time to see Winx racing before she heads off to produce a new generation of super mares and maybe even a colt or two.

It is The Championships at Randwick on April 13, one of the biggest days of the year for horseracing. Ascot has several nice races, as does Morphettville and Hawkesbury, making April one of the best for gallops punters.

Soccer fans may find so much action that it is hard to take it all in. The EPL offers an interesting scenario at the moment, with Liverpool at the top of the table ahead of no. 2 Manchester. Man City has registered one more win that Liverpool, but Man has lost three more and Liverpool is ahead by two points, despite the chase by Man that has it winning all of its last five matches.

Cricket will be all over the place as well.

Following the shock comeback victory by Australia in India, there is reason for optimism once again. There is Sheffield Shield going, the Indian Premier League and more, all of which bode well for free bookmaker bets on international and domestic play.

Looking overseas, the NCAA post-season tournament will wrap up in early April. The NBA is poised to begin its playoff season. The bookies seem to think Golden State will repeat as champions and they have now enlisted the aid of Andrew Bogut, who is done with his NBL duties for the season recently concluded.

The NHL is similarly getting ready for post-season play.

Major League Baseball will start at the end of March and offer hundreds of markets during April.

Professional golf will have the first Major of the season when it stages The Masters in Georgia at Augusta National during the first part of April. Jason Day, Adam Scott, Marc Leishman and Cameron Smith are always hanging around the top of leaderboards and Matt Jones has been showing up. This year has also seen Aaron Baddeley playing good golf again.

Motor racing fans have the 2019 NTT IndyCar series for open wheel racing with New Zealander Scott Dixon defending. The Kiwis claim him, even though he was born in Brisbane. Toowoomba native Will Power is another worth watching. Dixon is currently in third position, while Power, the winner of the 2018 Indy 500, is three spots lower in sixth.

F1 will have races in China and Azerbaijani during April.

Supercars is well along with Scott McLaughlin currently holding a narrow margin over Jamie Whincup. Chaz Mostert and Will Davison are within hailing distance of the front. The races for April are the Symmons Plains in the first part of the month, with Phillip Island to follow the next week.

NASCAR has six races on the calendar during April.

It takes a big bank and a lot of skill, along with some luck, to punt during April, but it might be a good month to join Sportsbet for a $501 bonus free bet.

Whichever bookmaker or bookmakers you use, make sure to use the bookmakers’ free bets, bookmakers free bookie bonuses and promotions to get that extra edge to keep you in front.
