Big Bash Season Looks to Feature Tight Competition

The 2016 – 2017 Big Bash League looks to hold the potential of being a season for the record books. Eight teams of 18 players, with a maximum of two international players each, are set to take the oval, with most of the rosters either finalised or near completion.

According to Sportsbet, the Melbourne Stars are the top pick, but there is not much distance betwixt their $5.00 outright price and a three-way jam betwixt the Perth Scorchers, Brisbane Heat and Melbourne Renegades, all three of which are being quoted at $6.50.

Of the four remaining teams, the Sydney Thunder at $7.00, the Adelaide Strikers at $8.00, the Hobart Hurricanes at $9.00 and the Sydney Sixers at $10.00 are not so distant as to be considered without potential.

Big Bash gets underway on December 20 when the Sydney sides, the Thunder and the Sixers, square off for what looks to be a highly entertaining encounter. Sportsbet has the Thunder at $1.67 and the Sixers at $2.20, practically too close to call.

Subsequent games feature even tighter markets, such as the December 22 meeting of the Melbourne Renegades and the Sydney Thunder, where a dead heat at $1.90 will be found.
