Aussie NBA-er Joe Ingles is brimming with confidence regarding his Utah Jazz team’s playoff prospects after he and his mates pulled off an impressive victory against the World Champion LeBron James led Cleveland Cavaliers.
The Jazz are currently enjoying a solid season, and if the playoffs were to begin today, they would be the fifth seed in the Western Conference and Ingles, as well as some others on the team, seem eager to speculate about not only qualifying for the post-season tournament that culminates in the awarding of the Larry O’Brien Trophy, but of going deep into the finals.
For Ingles, it would be his first NBA playoffs, so if his enthusiasm seems a bit excessive, it is hard to fault him for that, as a positive attitude is sometimes that last little edge required to excel.
As a former member of the Boomers and the Euro league Maccabi Tl Aviv side, Ingles has the basketball acumen to derive maximum benefit of his skill set, and in the recent win over the Cavaliers, he contributed five points, five rebounds and steered his team to a plus 15-point advantage when he was on court. He also, importantly, contributed tenacious defense that frustrated the high-scoring Cavaliers.
