Donald Trump is on course to be the next US President according to punters.
Online bookmaker sportsbet.com.au is facing a hefty payout approaching the large sum of $1,000,000.
The eccentric businessman has moved into favouritism to win the Republican nomination (now $1.91 from $2.70) while also closing in on Hillary Clinton to become President (now $4.00 in from $6.00).
Sportsbet quoted odds as large as $201 back in 2012 on Trump winning the election to be held four years later.
“Nobody really believed Trump could last the campaign but he’s starting to pull clear now of the other Republican candidates and we’re praying that he falls at the last hurdle on November 8th,’’ said sportsbet.com.au’s Will Byrne.
